Pregnant & Parenting
Prenatal
6 sessions—Our comprehensive Prenatal Class provides expectant parents with valuable information on the stages of pregnancy, from prenatal nutrition and exercise to the early stages of labour and delivery, breastfeeding, bottle feeding, and newborn care. A car seat safety presentation is included in the final session.
Postpartum Planning
2 sessions– Calgary, Strathmore, and Airdrie. This class gives soon-to-be parents a chance to think and prepare for the time after childbirth. Discussions will cover essential topics, including coming home from the hospital, how to feed your baby, your mental health, physical recovery, relationships, and routine infant behaviour. In-person.
Postpartum Support Group
9 sessions—Strathmore. This class gives soon-to-be moms a chance to think and prepare for the time after childbirth. It covers coming home from the hospital, baby feeding, mental and physical health, relationships, and baby behavior. This support group includes useful information, activities, real stories from moms, and discussions. Its aim is to share insights that many women have wished they knew before having a baby. Offered twice a year.
Baby's First Year
6 sessions – A practical class designed to build your confidence and help you navigate the exciting and challenging journey of parenthood. Receive expert guidance, invaluable practical advice, and the encouragement you need to thrive during your baby’s first year. Held in a safe, supportive space alongside other new parents where open discussions are encouraged to help address any questions or concerns you may have.
ProActive Parenting
6 sessions—Get ahead of your child’s developmental needs with the ProActive parenting class. Learn about children’s emotional, mental, and relational needs and how best to meet them in your day-to-day parenting. You will develop valuable knowledge and skills. Book included.
Mother Goose Rhyme Time
Ongoing—A fun, interactive class for parents and their babies or young children to connect through rhymes, songs and stories! Presented in partnership with the Further Education Society of Alberta. In-person, available at the Calgary location only.
LENA Start
10 sessions—LENA Start is an early literacy program for children ages 0-3. It promotes the importance of speaking with infants to nurture healthy brain development. Participants will receive one children’s book per week. This class is taught in a hybrid online and in-person format. Registration is limited to 10 families.
For Dads
Dad Zone
5 weeks – A class specially designed for new dads during their baby’s first year. Led by experienced dads, this practical course provides a safe space for new dads to ask questions, raise concerns, and gain valuable knowledge and skills. Learn how to bond with your child and support your partner, whether parenting together or individually.
DadLab - Stuff Every Father Should Know
Ongoing—A monthly drop-in program for dads by dads. This is a facilitated discussion covering a variety of topics. A great opportunity for fellow dads to connect and gain confidence and understanding.
For Moms
Mothering Together in Canada
6 weeks—A discussion-based program that provides a safe space for moms who are new to Canada to come together and discuss the challenges and joys of raising a family in Canada.
Moms Matter
Ongoing- Bi-weekly—This class offers mothers a chance to gather with their babies and build community and friendship. Each week, we will have an “expert” share and lead a guided conversation on various topics (ex, attachment, postpartum challenges, community resources, etc.). Our goal is to create a safe space for vulnerability and to build a community of support. Offered at Calgary and Airdrie locations.
Social Support
Financial Literacy
6 weeks – Learning how to better manage and save our money is a helpful skill at any point in life particularly for parents with dependent children. Developed by Momentum in this Financial Literacy Program you will learn tools such as budgeting, assets, and debt management, amongst others, that will help you to make the most of your financial resources.
Post Abortion Support
Everyone’s experience with abortion is deeply personal and unique. Some may feel a mix of emotions and sometimes, these feelings may not show up until later in life. Post-abortion support is available to anyone at any time in their journey and for as long as they need it.
If you or someone you know is experiencing unresolved feelings following an abortion, please get in touch with our team. We provide individual or peer support in a safe environment to help you process your emotions and move forward.
Birth Family Support
Adoption is a loving parenting choice. It also involves a grief journey. Have you made that choice? Are you thinking about making that choice? We offer on-going support for the birth family; a safe place to process, grieve, meet others who have “been there”. Groups and individual support offered.
