Practicum Opportunities

Students choosing to complete their practicum placement at Mainsprings receive hands-on experience interacting with clients and supporting our organization.

This placement can be used for a number of undergraduate degree programs, as well as, to fulfill some master’s program requirements. Join us in making a difference in your community and gain practical skills that will set you up for success in your career endeavours.

Practicum Opportunities<br /> Students receive hands on practical experience interacting with clients and supporting our organization.
Doing my practicum at Mainsprings allowed me to gain a wealth of knowledge about the work that nonprofits are doing in Calgary. It was invaluable. I was able to work directly with clients which allowed me to have hands-on experience working with people, but I was also able to learn about community education and engagement. I grew so much as a person through my 8 months working here. Not only does the staff offer amazing support and encouragement, but they also give you the opportunity to do what you’re passionate about. I was able to ask for opportunities while also feeling comfortable enough to share when something was outside of my abilities. What an amazing organization to partner with for your practicum experience; I would highly recommend it!
