When facing an unexpected pregnancy, you have choices. Our team will provide you with accurate information on each of your options—adoption, parenting and abortion. We provide you with the information you need to make an informed decision. We are there for you, regardless of what you choose.

We offer support for individuals experiencing pregnancy and/or in the early stages of parenting. We also offer confidential services for those experiencing unexpected pregnancy or other challenges related to pregnancy. Services include emotional support, material resources, practical programs and classes and connection to community resources. See our complete list of services here.

Our generous donors make possible the goods we supply, which means that items such as diapers and formula are not often available. Other community agencies can help with these items. Please get in touch with your peer support worker for more information.

Due to liability concerns, we cannot give out car seats, cribs, or other furniture. However, we can access other baby items, including gently used clothes and toys. We will work with you to help you source items you may need through other community agencies.

We do not have access to housing. If you are in need of housing, we can point you to the community resources that specialize in this area.

We are not a medical clinic and do not provide medical procedures. To find a provider near you, visit the Alberta Health Services website or contact HealthLink at 811.

Our support team is made up of compassionate and trained volunteers. We are able to offer counselling services with our Masters of Counselling students who are completing their practicum hours with Mainsprings.

Everyone is welcome to access our services, there are no eligibility requirements. We only require ID verification or supporting documents when requesting referrals to other community agencies like the food bank.

Mainsprings is funded by individual donors, churches, businesses, and foundations and receives limited government support. This diverse funding enables us to provide our services to the individuals and families in our community who need it most. Without donors, we would not exist. We are grateful to have your support.

Mainsprings is a faith-based organization affiliated with the Canadian Council of Christian Charities. We work alongside local faith communities and other community organizations to better serve our clients.

Yes! We welcome recurring monthly donations. Unlike one-time donations, which can vary significantly in amount and frequency, monthly contributions offer a steady and consistent source of income, allowing us to effectively plan for the future. We gratefully accept gently used clothing for babies 0-2, maternity clothes, toys and more. You can find our full list of accepted donations items here. Please note, due to liability concerns, we are unable to accept previously owned cribs, change tables, highchairs, baby baths, and car seats.
